Shanxi’s CPI rose 1.5% year-on-year in December and 1.0% in the whole year

According to the survey data released by Shanxi Investigation Team of National Bureau of Statistics, in December 2021, the consumer price index (CPI) of Our province rose by 1.5% year-on-year, which was 1.0 percentage points lower than that of the previous month.The increase was 1.4 percent in urban areas and 1.6 percent in rural areas.Food prices fell 0.3 percent, while non-food prices rose 1.9 percent.Consumer prices rose 1.5 percent and services prices rose 1.4 percent.In 2021, the province’s consumer prices rose 1.0% from the previous year.By category, in December 2021, prices of eight categories of goods and services for household consumption rose 6 percent and fell 2 percent compared with the same period last year.Prices of transportation and communications, education, culture and entertainment rose by 5.2% and 4.6%, housing and daily necessities and services by 0.7% and 0.5%, clothing, food, tobacco and alcohol by 0.4% and 0.3%, respectively.Prices for health care and other supplies and services fell 0.1 percent and 0.9 percent, respectively.(Reporter Wang Jiali)
