A 3.0 magnitude earthquake has hit Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province

A magnitude-3.0 earthquake hit Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong Province at 6:00am On Feb. 7, according to the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC). The epicenter was located at 23.84 degrees north latitude and 114.51 degrees east longitude with a depth of 8 kilometers.The average elevation within 5 kilometers of the epicenter is about 156 meters.According to the China Earthquake Network speed report directory, in the past five years, there have been eight earthquakes of magnitude 3 or above within 200 kilometers of the epicenter.The largest earthquakes are the 3.7-magnitude earthquake in Dongyuan County, Heyuan City, Guangdong province on April 2, 2021 (2 km away from the epicenter) and the 3.7-magnitude earthquake in Xingning City, Meizhou City, Guangdong Province on January 20, 2020 (153 km away from the epicenter).
